Reflections of Sorrow
As I enjoy a drive to the lovely sea shore Warm afternoon sunlight caresses my cheek I can feel the cool breeze As I shuffle through thoughts for the words that I seek I remember one spring day You wrote me a poem And of the love you'd bestow on me To welcome me home Now as I watch the sun glisten On waves that come crashing to shore I would love to bare my heart to you But I fear in telling you more Because even tho' we're as close As ever two lovers can get And I knew that we'd marry each other From the very first moment we met It is hard for me to tell you how sad that I feel For I fear you won't think That my sorrow is real I want for us once again to feel free To enjoy our love the way it used to be I'd like to lean against a palm tree And feel the grass beneath my toes We could walk into the gardens And stop to smell the boquet of a rose As I hear the birds singing Their sweet melodious song I remember the love we once shared And all I really want is for us to get along.
