Millennium in Hawaii
As I gaze out my bedroom window Into a new millenium sky I see the starlight of Venus Below the moon's crescent eye The palm tree's are dancing To nature's melodic tune And in the sky are flowers As if the month is June Like a huge colorful boquet In the midnight sky As quickly as they burst in bloom So quickly do they die A Chinese dragon Dances throughout the night To the beat of a Chinese drum Tossing lilies in his wake To bring in the millennium The sky is so crowded with color That surely Van Gogh has been here With a palette of paint and his brushes Scattering flowers everywhere Looking out over Pearl Harbour Exploding flowers fill the air No other New Years celebration Can even begin to compare A magestic wreath laid in the water Was the reflection in the bay And at this moment, this millennium It is for peace we all should pray At evening's end, when all is spent And the fireworks finale done A smoky fog shrouds the beach To greet the New Years sun.
