Leaving
As my friend prepares to leave this earthy plane She has so many regrets That the weight of them Nearly breaks her back The sorrow of imprisoned words, never spoken That long to be freed To be shared and embraced By those she loves What parting words can possibly be Important enough to make her immortal? A sense of purpose revealed itself among The many doubts that lie ahead That she could take these last few months To make amends To share her heart and soul While her days are too quickly passing She reaches out to those in need And in this giving of herself She finds her fears slip away As she realizes she has been given a gift Of knowing when she's going
